The Vedas were written in the Sanskrit language and originated in Bharat (today called India). The word Veda means knowledge. It was initially (for thousands of years) propagated from one generation to another orally since there was no means to write. That is why Vedas are called Shruti's, which means "which is heard". The language used to orally propagate was Sanskrit. Later it was also written down in the Sanskrit language.

There are four books in Vedas namely Yajurved, Samved, Atharvaveda, Rigved. Each of the four books touches various aspects of life and the universe. Based on Vedas other scriptures are written like the Purans and Upanishads.

People like Albert Einstein and Nikola Tesla took a keen interest in Vedas in their life. A lot of modern science concept in maths and science is believed to have its root from Vedas. These books are considered the gold mine for knowledge. Vedas are not religious books as believed by some people simply because Bharat never had the concept of religion and the content of the book is about humans and the universe and has to do nothing with any god. Its popularity has been increasing in the modern world at a very fast rate.
