Is there such a creature as a singing toadfish?
Batrachoididae or "Toadfish" are benthic ambush predators that favor sandy or muddy substrates where their cryptic coloration helps them avoid detection by their prey. Toadfish are well known for their ability to "sing", males in particular using the swim bladder as a sound-production device used to attract mates. The sound is a perfect A flat tone.

I have seen similar fish along the coast where I live. They are called Plainfin Midshipman and the males have huge heads.

I might be wrong, but when I was stationed in Milton Florida we caught what was commonly known as "Croakers" they made a sound like a frog and were not choucey about what they ate. My wife at the time caught two at the same time one bit the bait the other one bit the one that took the bait!
