KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, or 'Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V.' (literally 'Royal Aviation Company, Inc.') is the flag carrier airline of the Netherlands. It is a part of Air France-KLM, a Franco-Dutch airline holding company. Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, KLM serves national and international destinations. Its main airport is Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. As of 2021, KLM is the world's oldest airline with its original name.

In 1919, eight Dutch businessmen founded KLM as one of the first commercial airline companies, although its first flight did not take place until 17th May 1920, flying from Croydon Airport, London, to Amsterdam. KLM's first intercontinental flight took place on 1st October 1924, finishing at Batavia (now Jakarta) in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia).

On 19th June 2012, KLM made the first transatlantic flight fueled partly by sustainable biofuels. The flight landed at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, making it the longest distance any aircraft had flown on bio fuels. In 2012 and 2013, KLM received the award for 'Best Airline Staff Service in Europe' at the World Airline Awards.
