Natural blondes have more hair than natural brunettes.
Brunettes have about 100,000-120,000 hairs compared to blondes who have 120,000-140,000. One of the reasons hair evolved, evolutionally speaking, was to serve as protection for the scalp against potentially harmful UV rays. As dark-colored strands usually contain more melanin which provides a natural barrier, brunettes need less hair to protect the skin on their heads.

I am blonde lots of hair - baby fine, darker hair also tends to have a thicker shaft, under a microscope my hair looks like a straw while my friend's looks like a broom handle in size comparison.

Blondes have more hair follicles but finer hair than brunettes who have more than redheads. Learned that in a beauty culture (hair dressing) class.

I read many years ago that blondes have more hair than brunettes but it is generally finer than brunettes' hair, which is why it seems that brunettes have more hair. This includes body hair which is not as obvious as brunettes because it is blonde.
