It aired its original non-syndicated run from January 12, 1997, to September 13, 2009, and centers on the Hills, an American family in the fictional city of Arlen, Texas.
The series protagonist and patriarch, Hank Hill works as assistant manager at Strickland Propane. He lives with his wife Peggy, his son Bobby, his niece Luanne, and his pet bloodhound Lady Bird. The show's realistic approach seeks humor in the conventional and mundane aspects of everyday life, such as blue-collar workers, substitute teachers, the trials of puberty, and political correctness.
Elroy "Lucky" Kleinschmidt, a 36-year-old hillbilly was voiced by Tom Petty.
Having no credit or Social Security number it's hard for Lucky to hold down a job. He lives on the remainder of the $53,000 "settlement monies" he received after "slipping on pee-pee at the Costco" having had a portion of his spine fused. He was nicknamed "Lucky" after the settlement windfall.
Peggy tried very hard to break him and Luanne apart, but after Luanne's pregnancy was revealed, she and Hank reconciled the two, giving them a shotgun wedding at Lucky's request.
Tom Petty (October 20, 1950 – October 2, 2017) was an American musician who was the lead vocalist and guitarist of the rock band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, formed in 1976.
