Along with Wyoming, Colorado and Utah also appear to be made out of perfectly straight lines on the U.S. map. But only Colorado and Wyoming appear to have four sides. When looking at Colorado and Wyoming individually, they are nearly indistinguishable from one another. However, these states are not actually made up of straight lines.

When the states were mapped, the cartographers did not take into account of the Earth’s roundness. So instead of Colorado having only four sides, it instead truly has six-hundred and ninety seven sides, making it a hexahectaenneacontakaiheptagon.

Wyoming also has a similar situation, its borders were believed to have been straight, while in fact, they contain many kinks and secret edges where it cuts in a bit into the state.
