Peter Green was once a member of the rock band, Fleetwood Mac.

This great British rock band was formed in July, 1967 in London. They have since then sold millions of records (over 100 million) world wide. Currently, the band is made up of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckigham and Stevie Nicks. Peter Green (born Peter Allen Greenbaum) was an original co founder of the band Fleetwood Mac. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. He is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

Early Fleetwood Mac w/Peter Green was a very bluesy group that I preferred to the pop version of the late 70's. Bare Trees & Kiln House had some of the best blues rock ever produced.

I wonder if he is related to Norman Greenbaum who had a hit single with "Spirit in the sky " in the sixties ? Interesting. I will have to Google. I love Fleetwood Mac and have their CD Rumours.

Jerry Edwards, The Mac was named after John McVie only....Christine Perfect, as she was then, was in Chicken Shack, who also played the college circuit.

Saw them when they first started out in the 60s. Like most bands in those days, they played the college circuit....none of this large arena nonsense that goes on nowadays, where you can't see a thing and have to watch screens.

Co-founded by Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood after they left John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, circa 1967. They came up with the name in an effort to entice John McVie to leave the Bluesbreakers as well, but he wanted the steady income that playing with John Mayall brought.
