Maybe you'll be surprised to know that these creatures can't blink because they have no eyelids! Their eyes are protected with a special scale known as brille. This skin is not flexible and if worn out, it is just replaced by a new one. For sure, the scale is transparent though sometimes it might be a bit cloudy. Some species of fish and reptiles also have such an adaptation.
