Death penalty is just legalised murder. Yes many a good argument for it, but in the end no man is entitled to take the life of another irrespective of any laws that give him such authority. Glad I live in a country that doesn’t have a death penalty. Nobody dies unnecessarily because of errors, conspiracy or hate.

People don't choose to die... Criminals think they can out-smart the cops and the justice system... and when they are caught they cry "Innocent." If you do the crime you should do the time, or accept the death penalty!

No death penalty in Australia. Too many innocent people in jail. And too many innocent people executed, in countries where there is the death penalty

Actually it's more expensive to send them to death row. Appeals are expensive. So is the execution itself.

I'm not against the death penalty because I think it's inhumane. I would rather see them locked up in a supermax for the rest of their lives in solitary confinement, where some of them do, here in the USA. There locked up for 23 hours alone, and only allowed one hour of exercise, outside in a cage alone. They eat alone in there cell. I consider this worse than death, and would rather see this happen to anyone who torcherd and killed my loved ones. This way they'll wish they were dead.

Virginia Marion: You clearly must be ignorant of the dozens of people who have been exonerated of crimes for which they are innocent, and how this injustice happens disproportionately to poor people and persons of color. Either that, or you don't care.

I;m not necessarily against the death penalty. Except, with such an imperfect legal system too many have been wrongly convicted and sentenced to death.

Virginia Marion, except, here in the USA anyway, we have a very imperfect legal system and many have been put to death who were actually innocent. How many people are now released from jail after DNA proves their innocence? Before DNA, how many were put to death or given life sentences?

"An eye for an eye" was in the first part of a very popular piece of literature. There are also other interesting ideas in newer testaments that came out a little later.
