The Iberian Peninsula – also known as Iberia -- lies in the south-east of Europe. To the west is the Atlantic ocean, to the east is the Mediterranean sea, and to the north is the Bay of Biscay. The Pyrenees mountains in the north-east form the boundary with the rest of continental Europe.

The majority of Iberia is Spanish territory. Most, but not all, of Spain is located on the Peninsula.

The second largest part of Iberia is Portuguese territory. Most, but not all, of Portugal is located in the west of the Peninsula.

The third largest part is occupied by France. Part, but not all, of the French department Pyrénées-Orientales lies in the north-east corner of the Peninsula.

The fourth largest part is occupied by Andorra. This tiny statelet lies between France and Spain in the north-east of the Peninsula.

The fifth and smallest occupant of Iberia is Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory located at the southern tip of the Peninsula.
