Total waste of money IMHO. Thatcher mad life a misery for millions of UK residents with her poll tax and other right wing nonsense.

Iron seems like a missed opportunity.

I was going to choose the obvious Bronze, then thought she was known as the "Iron Lady" and chose incorrectly. Figured it would be hard to make a statue of iron but figured they would do so as a sign of respect. Guess the respect wasn't the key. Gotta have a redo. Respect, gentlemen!

Most statues and busts are usually made of Bronze and I chose that just because Margaret was titled "Iron Lady", meant her resolve was iron clad not her body! lol!

Statues are almost always made of bronze as it does not rust.

Two important economic facts that many folk from other generations and other countries in particular do not realise about Thatcher: 1. The over dependency of her Governments on interest rates as "their" tool to manage inflation - overly simplistic, did not work, you can't just presume we will all rush to save when interest rates increase! Mortgage rates were at an all time high, her government did not understand the finances of we ordinary folk that need mortgages; it also drove the expectations of investors to seek unrealistic returns on capital, which was so desperately damaging to UK manufacturing. 2.The paranoia of her Governments that companies were trying to stuff their pension funds with cash to minimise their tax bills led to the compulsion for Pension Holidays for companies, which along with the unrealistic actuarial assumptions by the Government Actuary (dear God, Government should not get involved with trying to sway professionals who have spent several years studying!) have led to most of the UK final salary pension schemes having to be wound up, with a greater dependency on Maggie's Friends in the City! This is considered to be between 4-6 times as damaging in real terms as Gordon Brown's pension changes.
