The United Arab Emirates joined the United Nations on the 9th of December, 1933
Few people know that the UAE was established only in 1971. The federation of seven emirates became independent from Great Britain on the 2nd of December 1971. Arabic is the official language of the country but English is still widely spoken.
By 1966, the British government could no longer administer the country. The UAE became an independent unit in 1971. That very year, the country joined the United Nations.
Today UAE is one of the richest countries in the world with oil reserves to be the seventh-largest and natural gas reserves to be the seventeenth-largest in the world.

There was no United Nations in 1933. The UN officially came into existance on October 24, 1945.

Both of subjects in this particular question did not exist in 1933,end of story.On October 24, 1945, the United Nations officially came into existence when its Charter was ratified by the five permanent members of the Security Council (France, Republic of China, Soviet Union, United Kingdom and United States) and a majority of other 46 member countries.

I don't understand why there are those who say this was a trick question! If there was no United Nations in 1933 then the answer is false so, therefore the answer "false" is the correct answer.
