The Yas Marina Circuit is the venue for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The circuit was designed by Hermann Tilke, and is situated on Yas Island, about 30 minutes east of Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates. Yas Marina is the second Formula One track in the Middle East, with the first being in Bahrain.

At its completion in 2009, the Yas Marina track was believed to be the most expensive circuit in history, having been constructed for Formula One on a man-made island at a reputed cost of US$1 billion. Needless to say, it lacks nothing in terms of facilities, yet it has failed to capture the imagination of the drivers and fans, with overtaking in particular proving particularly difficult. It has 21 turns and a track length of 5.554 km (3 mi).

Reception among drivers has been mixed with some commenting that every corner is 'unique'. Others have not been complimentary, with some expressing a particular dislike of the pit exit, which dips under the main circuit by way of a tunnel. One driver notoriously gave his thoughts on the circuit, stating "the first few turns are quite good, but the rest of it is shit".

After the 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix the designer Hermann Tilke said that they were considering making changes to the track to present more overtaking opportunities.
