The movie is one where James Bond (Craig) goes on his first mission as a 00. Le Chiffre is a banker to the world's terrorists. He is participating in a poker game at Montenegro, where he must win back his money, in order to stay safe in his terrorist market. The boss of MI6, "M" (Dench) sends Bond, along with Vesper Lynd (Green) to attend the game and prevent Le Chiffre from winning. Bond, using help from Felix Leiter, Rene Mathis (Giancarlo Giannini), and having Vesper pose as his partner, enters the very important poker game. By defeating Le Chiffre, Bond and Lynd put themselves in extreme danger. Ultimately, Lynd is killed. She ends up drowning. Bond attempts to resuscitate her, but he fails.

"Casino Royale" was an entirely widespread commercial and critical success.
