What animal is the fastest land animal on earth?
A cheetah can easily accelerate to 63 mph in just... three seconds! No wonder cheetahs are considered the fastest land animals on our planet. If a cheetah peaks up the pace, it can run even faster, 75 mph.
All the other animals from the list are also quite fast, but their maximum speed is a bit less impressive:
- The springbok reaches speeds up to 62 mph.
- The pronghorn antelope can run 55 mph.
- Lions can run up to 50 mph.

The question specifically asks what the fastest LAND animal is. A peregrine falcon reaches his top speed in the AIR. There is a difference.

pay attention. read the whole question this is what gets us we think we know what someone is going to say or we assume we know what the question is and then asnwer incorrectly. this happens all the time in conversations and reading signs etc causing problems and miscommuniations and alot of the time negative outcomes

It’s always entertaining to watch the children squabble in the comments! Bless their little hearts! No cookies and milk for them today.

Robert Johnson I'm not sure what you think I'm wrong about and I don't need to look up anything! You can throw all the facts at me that you like, but the answer to the question will still be the cheetah, Einstein. You ask why these other animals were not among the choices of answers. I can't tell you that because I didn't write the question. Are you with me, Einstein? Besides, what does it matter what the other choices are, since the correct answer will always be the cheetah? None of the other animals you mention are faster than the cheetah. You quibble over what the selection of wrong answers should be! How absurd can you be? You are trying to make a point where there is none to be made and you are addressing the wrong person to boot. I don't know how to make this any plainer to you since I don't speak "imbecilic".

Last week in a similar question, The Perigrin Falkin was said to be the fastest. It could dive at 200 MPH. It was not a choice on this quize. I supose diving through the air, is not on earth.

William Laughlin, fastest bird in a dive. Fastest bird flying level is the White-throated Needletail.
