What are the critical elements found in the soil?
Critical elements are elements necessary for the successful growth and development of a species but they are always deficient in soil. They are namely Nitrogen(N) , Phosphorus(P) and Potassium(K).
The deficiency can either be because of leaching or because of absorption by plants .
In agriculture, leaching is the loss of water-soluble plant nutrients from the soil, due to rain and irrigation.
Example:- Red and yellow soil is formed due to leaching.
If plants will absorb the nutrients from the soil, then the soil will definitely become deficient of those elements.
So, the correct answer will be N, P, K.

These elements are critical for soil fertility and not for soil. N,K,S is equally correct option.

I agree with Cg. I am not a soil scientist, I am a material science person, but where is carbon? Where is hydrogen? Oxygen? (i.e. water) Again, the review is non-existent, so perhaps we can ask questioncompilers to ask questions that can be answered and to give true explanations.

The whole answer in this question is incorrect. Please do not believe anything that this says because it is all wrong. At least that is what I learned while taking my doctoral degree in soil chemistry and my masters degree in plant sciences,
