The Flag of Nigeria is in the picture. Designed in 1959, it was first officially used and hoisted on the 1st of October, 1960. Nigeria's natural wealth is represented by two green stripes on the flag. The white stripes, like on the flags of many other countries, represents peace.

Originally there was a red radiating sun in the middle of the flag, but later judges removed the badge and since then the Nigerian flag remained unchanged.
