What dinosaur name means "fast thief?"
The Velociraptor is believed to have been able to run at speeds of approximately 40mph due to its slender legs, bipedal locomotion and considerably light weight (the Velociraptor weighed in at around fifteen to thirty pounds.
Velociraptor means "fast thief." This fast-running dinosaur, which lived during the late Cretaceous period (about 85-80 million years ago), has become quite popular due the movie Jurassic Park. Standing only about 3 feet tall (and 5 to 6 feet long), Velociraptors were much smaller than depicted in the movie. They were, however, fierce predators, and their sickle-shaped talons could reach the length of the teeth on sabertooth cats, making them a formidable adversary.

You might have also mentioned that, unlike their portrayal in Jurassic Park, they had feathers. They were part of the family of dinosaurs that evolved into birds.

To me, one of the most memorable scenes was when Dr. Grant held the newly hatched dino, heard from Dr. Hammond what it was, and asked "You bred Raptors?", with that look that basically asked "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!?".

Because they flew and their front limbs stretch out to the sides, they are not dinosaurs. Instead, they're a distant dinosaur cousin. Pterosaurs lived from the late Triassic Period to the end of the Cretaceous Period, when they went extinct along with dinosaurs. Like birds, pterosaurs had lightweight, hollow bones.
