What does Melanie Gaydos suffering from a rare genetic disorder called Ectodermal Dysplasia do?

Melanie Gaydos is the new face in the fashion industry. She is suffering from Ectodermal Dysplasia (ED). This disease primarily occurs in 1 in 10,000 births and is caused by a group of related genetic disorders. Due to ED, Melanie’s teeth, pores, cartilage, nails, and bones are not fully developed.

Until now, Melanie has undergone 30-40 surgeries as a young woman. Even more, this model also has alopecia and is partially blind after the growth of eyelashes scratched her eyes.

Melanie Gaydos was born on 18 July 1988 in Connecticut, United States. Melanie enrolled at Pratt Institute in New York City to study art. She is graduated from the same institute as well.

This is an interesting question, but so poorly constructed that it took me a minute to figure out what it meant. I think it could be better written as "What career does Melanie Gaydos, who suffers from Ectodermal Dysplasia, a rare genetic disorder, have? (or something similar)

I wish people would stop using the term “suffers from”. They have or a live with their condition. Is it not for us to decide whether or not they are suffering; they can determine that for themselves.
