What does the letter K in the Periodic table stand for?
This metal, rarely found in its pure form, is nevertheless one of the most abundant ones. It makes up about 1.5 per cent of the earth's crust, since it is found in most soils. The metal is silvery white in color and this feature makes it look like silver. It is also known as one of the most reactive and least dense metals. The symbol comes from the Latin word kalium.

In German, potassium is “Kalium”. That’s where the K comes from.

Your scoring is meaningless without a base. Percentile would be much more meaningful. Also, I think the answers given in five seconds are the only ones that should be counted. Anybody can take time to look up the answer.

Oh, another thing. If you're taking a "pee" pill, you might lose your K, so make sure you eat plenty of bananas or take a K supplement.

Eugenia Kruse, I'm not a scientist, but I think all the abbreviations in the periodic table come from Latin.
By derivation the elements may have the same name in various other languages. German seems to take a lot of vocabulary from Latin.

Okay this is for the Quizz Club people in charge:
That is the 2nd time I have clicked on Double Chance and guessed incorrectly but was not given my second guess.
That's what double chance is: you get one wrong guess, and hopefully on your second guess you get the correct answer.
I guessed Carbon first and was going to answer Potassium next if Carbon was wrong.
I never got the second chance.
You need to check to make sure that hint is not malfunctioning, because the same thing has happened before.
I chose Double Chance but never got the second chance, I just was told I guessed wrong.
You guys need to fix that.
Either that or do away with the Double Chance hint if it won't work.
