What does the word Xanthophobia mean?

It is interesting that in some countries this phobia is historically determined. For example, the Chinese were afraid of the yellow scarves because this stuff was usually worn by the people forced to commit suicide (by the order of the Emperor).

Nowadays, the phobia is a common phenomenon. The cause of it is some painful experience connected with the color (for example, if you were once hit by a taxi).

The picture could be misleading. Not only are the leaves yellow, but yellow leaves are in autumn and are on trees, which are two of the other answers.

How limiting! These people must have a hard time being painters, yellow cab drivers, school bus drivers, eat bananas, wearing Hawaiian shirts or yellow rain gear, looking at yellow traffic lights and signs —- yellow is everywhere oh my!
