What is a helicon?
A large spiral brass tuba, such as a sousaphone, that fits around the player's shoulder.
An example of helicon in a sentence is as follows: As the marching band strolled by, Karen could see that the small boy carrying the giant helicon was sweating profusely.
This is not to be confused with Helicon (notice the capital H), which is a mountain
1,749 (5,738 ft.) high, of central Greece. It was the legendary abode of the Muses and was sacred to Apollo.
