What is another name for Venus in the morning sky?
The name Lucifer comes from the Latin - Lux + Fero - meaning "Light Bringer"
The orbit of Venus is inside the orbit of the Earth, so it always appears to be either preceding or trailing the sun and is at it's brightest either at dawn or dusk.
Because of this, the ancient Greeks and Romans considered Venus two different celestial objects, depending on whether you saw it in the morning or if you saw it in the evening. In the morning, Venus was known as "Lucifer" the light bringer.

Never heard of this, even with 40 years of Biblical study. Venus is known as the Morning Star or Morning Dawn.

Morning star never in all my years have I ever heard it revered to as Lucifer, so the author was going very very obscure to be devious not in the spirit of the game

The orbit of Venus is closer to the sun than the earth's orbit is, that's true. Worded the way it is here:"The orbit of Venus is inside the orbit of the earth." suggests something else. It suggests that somehow Venus's orbit crosses the earth's orbit to 'get inside' that orbit. I also have never heard Venus referred to as Lucifer.
