Cacophobia is a fear of ugliness and ugly people. The name of this rare phobia is of Greek origin – “caco” is translated from the Greek language as bad or unpleasant, and “phobia”, as you might know, means fear.

This psychological disorder is rather specific and rare. It may be provoked by various reasons, usually by some psychological trauma in early childhood. However, the phobia can be cured if a person suffering from it seeks medical help.
