The "Sacred City of Caral" or simply "Caral" is an archaeological site in Peru that is considered the oldest pre-Hispanic city in the Americas. With an antiquity of 5,000 years, built by the Caral civilization, no other site with such a diversity of monumental buildings, including ceremonial and administrative constructions, has been found so far either in North, Central, or South America.

Caral is located in the Supe valley, near the current town of Caral, 182 km (113 mi) north of Lima (Peru's capital city), 23 km (14 mi) east from the Pacific Ocean, and 350 m (1148 ft) above sea level. It is one of the oldest cities in the world built by the Caral civilization, contemporary with others such as Egypt, India, Sumeria, and China. Unlike them, who exchanged their achievements, Caral developed in complete isolation.

Discovered in 1948 by American historian Paul Kosok, Caral has been excavated and studied in the last 20 years by Peruvian archaeologist Ruth Shady. Caral was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2009 and can be visited nowadays.
