Denton True Young was born on March 29, 1867 in Gilmore Ohio. Mr. Young has 511 wins as a pitcher (he is baseball's winningest pitcher) and 316 losses. Young pitched for the Cleveland Spiders (1890-1898), St. Louis Cardinals (1899-1900), Boston Red Sox (1901-1908), Cleveland Indians (1909-1911), and finished his career with the Boston Braves in 1911.

Cy Young also managed the Boston Red Sox during the 1907 season. He left the game at the age of 45 with a reputation for continued greatness over his tenure that has yet to be matched in the history of baseball. Each year the top pitcher from both the American and National league is awarded in his honor. Mr. Young was inducted into the baseball hall of fame in 1937.
