What is the boss suit in bridge?
The modern game of Spades became popular in the late 1940s, especially on college campuses.
A review of several card game reference sources revealed that Spades descended from Whist. Spades is also closely related to Bridge, Pinochle, Euchre and other similar skill games featuring partnership play, bidding and a trump suit.
The appeal of Spades is its relatively basic bidding system, opportunity for advanced play and very quick moving action. Many seasoned Bridge players became very proficient at Spades before graduating to their specialty.

Never heard it called the boss suit in bridge and the explanation does not confirm this fact.

Apparently I'm more of an introvert than I thought. Don't know Spades, Hearts, Euchre, Pinochle or Bridge, but I know several different ways to play solitaire!

Bridge is too complicated, I prefer Poker or Blackjack.
You want something less simpler than playing Bridge, try BUILDING a bridge!

What is a "boss" suit ? Spades is the highest ranking suit, if that is what the submitter meant

earlepg, There is an Italian game called Spades, in translation. The queens, jacks, and kings replace the 8, 9, and 10 cards, in that order. The A and 3 are the highest cards in any suite, and the spades are highest. Thank you, Christine, James' wife

I've never heard of any game called "Spades", but I played whist before I was in high school, pinochle when I was in high school, and bridge when I was in college. I haven't played any card games afterwards.
