What is the capital of Nevada?
Carson City is one of the forty-one independent U.S. cities and the capital of the state of Nevada. Founded in 1858, it has a population of about 54,500 people nowadays. Originally Carson City was a stopover for California bound emigrants, but later developed into a city after a silver strike. It serves as the state capital since 1864. Carson City was also the county seat of Ormsby County, which was abolished in 1969, forming Consolidated Municipality of Carson City.
The city is located nearby the city of Reno and Lake Tahoe. Plenty of desert parks and rivers are around, which makes the place popular among rock-climbers, fishermen and skiers from all over the country.

William Weathers, A good point. I don't believe New York City is oneof the 41, since Staten Island, one of the boroughs of the city, is also Richmond county.

A good question, especially when you give other alternatives that are within the same state. I believe at one time the town also had a mint, with "cc" on the coins. Not sure.
