What is the deepest part of the world's oceans called?

The Mariana Trench is the deepest part of the world's oceans. It is situated in the western Pacific Ocean, to the east of the Mariana Islands. It is rather prolonged: with the length of 1,580 miles, it has an average width of only 43 miles. But the most curious characteristic is, of course, its depth, which reaches a maximum of 6,8 miles. Despite the tough conditions of the very depths of the trench, it's home to numerous singular creatures and unique flora.

Kiki, 6.8. It's not a typo. When the metric system was adopted in Australia 6,8 was the standard, but it was generally ignored in favour of 6.8.

What is its depth? It states 6,8 miles...I'm not sure what that is supposed to represent.

'Unique flora' is down there? Floras (or florae) need light. It's quite dark that far down.

littlekitchenmiracles I wondered about this too. Also the depth is meant to be 6,8 miles . Surely that should be 6.8 miles . Or is it meant to be 6-8 miles ? More care should be used before submitting Questions.
