What is the dress code to play tennis in Wimbledon?
Back in the Victorian era, it was thought that white would hide sweat the best while playing tennis, and that this would be the most proper. This tradition has lasted to this day, including socks, shoes, wristbands, headbands, hair accessories and sweaters. Even any off-white shades are prohibited. Only a 1 cm or half inch trim is allowed of colour.
Even if a player requires medical tape or a brace, it should be white in color wherever necessary.
Spectators however, do not have to wear white, but are often very well dressed.

I remember even John McEnroe was ordered back to the changing room to alter his clothing to white.
He nearly had one of his famous tantrums😆😆

The Brits have come a long way from requiring the long skirts and long pants of yore. Progress, albeit very slow, is being made.

When my daughter was born in England, 28 years ago, my friend told me that (although I'm Canadian) I MUST keep her in all white till she was 1 year old, as per British tradition. NOT going to happen. I don't think she EVER had an all-white outfit. I love bright colors!

Ilias Tsiabardas, the answer is correct. Players must wear white on all courts. Spectators must be smartly dressed on Center Court and No. 1 Court.
