It has 45 locks, is home to over 25 species of fish, boasts three areas of outstanding natural beauty and it's the only river in Europe to have a national trail follow its entire length.

dowill, the Severn is the longest in the UK, as it runs through Wales and England, the Thames is the longest in England, read correctly.

The longest river in BRITAIN is the Severn.
The answer is correct.

mntvoglein, I'm from America, not england, so maybe I have no right to say this, but I'm gonna say it anyway: the question didn't ask for specifics, so I, naturally, assumed it meant the longest river ENTIRELY WITHIN ENGLAND, which I always thought to be the Thames. If the question had asked the longest river in Great Britain, I would have been stumped, having never even heard of the Severn (until taking this quiz). As far as I'm aware, the answer is correct.
