John Lennon was a famous English musician, mostly known as one of the members of the Beatles. Many people remember him for his political activism and pacifism. He was shot on the 8th of December 1980 by his fan, Mark David Chapman.

Mark David Chapman was a man born in Texas in 1955. He had a tight childhood, tried drugs at the early age and attempted to kill himself several times. Mark murdered John Lennon, an ex-Beatle, outside The Dakota apartment building in New York City on the 8th of December, 1980. Chapman didn't try to escape: he just remained sitting at the crime scene and reading J. D. Salinger's novel "The Catcher in the Rye". When the police arrived, he said the Salinger's story was his statement and repeated it many times.

After sustaining four fatal gunshot wounds, Lennon was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. He was only 40 years old.

Imagine all the people living life in peace...
