It is a funny, action-packed sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1, and it is chock-full of great performances, clever humor, more character and relationship development, and stellar visual effects.

The story revolves around Peter Quill and fellow Guardians i.e. Gamora, Rocket, Drax and Baby Groot.

They are hired by a powerful alien race, the Sovereign, to protect their precious batteries from invaders. When it is discovered that Rocket has stolen the items they were sent to guard, the Sovereign attacks the Guardians' ship with a fleet of drones for vengeance. A mysterious figure destroys the drones, and the Guardians crash-land on a nearby planet. There, this figure reveals himself as Quill's father, Ego, a god-like Celestial.

Ego, also known as the Living Planet, was a major villain and antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He was the unseen overarching antagonist of Guardians of the Galaxy, the main antagonist of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Ego was played by Actor Kurt Russell. He is great as Ego, Peter's father and the character fits right in alongside the goofy, comedic Guardians, and he always keeps you guessing as to what his real motivations are.
