Harpo Incorporated is a privately held parent holding company also known as Harpo Productions, a marketing name. It is an American multimedia production company founded by Oprah Winfrey (born January 29, 1954) in 1963, based in West Hollywood, California in the United States. As a parent company, as of 2012, there were 12,554 employees working in various divisions or subsidiaries. Winfrey is currently the Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of the parent holding company.

A few of the media products and programs that are broadcast as of December 2021 include ‘Dr. Phill’ (2002 to the present), ‘Rachael Ray’ (2006 to the present), ‘Super Soul Sunday’ (2011 to the present). Harpo Print is the company’s publishing house and there is a subsidiary company with a minority interest in cable network called Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

In January 2021, it was announced that Harpo Productions will produce an Oprah Winfrey documentary for Apple TV+. That documentary series became known as ‘’The Me You Can’t See’ in which Winfrey co-hosts with Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.

Winfrey is an American talk show host, television producer, actress, author and philanthropist. The name “Harpo” is “Oprah” spelled backwards, and it was also the name of her on-screen husband in the 1985 film “The Color Purple”. Winfrey received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in that film, as the featured protagonist and former slave.
