What is the name of the process in which plants convert sunlight into oxygen?

It's amazing how plants are able to convert the sunlight into the energy of the required type in order to fuel their processes. What's even more interesting, plants provide us with oxygen and this element is released as a waste product of the whole process of conversion! If not for the plants, there will be no animals on Earth, including humans. That's why people should have the greatest respect for the plants and show their gratitude for the ability to live on this small green planet.

I watched a video about the flora of this "Ark" we call home and it was filmed and then sped up to show that the plants are moving and are quite graceful reaching for the Sun. It was televised on the BBC network.
