The Silver Spotted Skipper is found from southern Canada through Central America during the warm season. It has a distinctive silver patch on the wings. Skippers have antennae which are farther apart at the base and end in pointed curved clubs to distinguish them from true butterflies. Their bodies are robust and moth like. Their larva feed on locust and wisteria leaves. They are named for their skipping flight.
