Daniel Joseph Ricciardo (Ree-car-doe) was born on 1 July 1989 in Perth, Western Australia and is an Italian-Australian F1 racing driver. He was born to Italian parents.

Before joining McLaren-Mercedes as his current team, Daniel spent two years at Renault, five years at Red Bull Racing - Scuderia Toro Rosso - as test driver and drove for HRT (Hispania Racing Team) in the second half of 2011. From 2012/13 he drove for the Scuderia Toro Rosso team alongside Frenchman Jean-Éric Vergne.

Daniel replaced Mark Webber at Red Bull in 2014, where he reached podium position at the Australian Grand Prix, but was disqualified for exceeding the maximum allowed fuel flow on his car. He won at the 2014 Spanish- , Hungarian- and Belgian Grands Prix.

In 2016, Daniel took his first pole position at Monaco, but lost the victory after his pit crew brought the tyres late on his second stop. He took first place at the 2016 Malaysian Grand Prix after Lewis Hamilton's engine went up in smoke. He was victorious at the 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, and in 2018 he took his sixth victory at the Chinese Grand Prix and his first double at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2022, for "significant service to motorsport as a competitor and ambassador, and to the community"; Daniel joins the likes of Mark Webber and Jack Brabham. He is also known for his TV work on 'Formula 1: Drive to Survive' (2019), 'Formula 1 (1950-)' and 'Formula 1: Ten Sport' (2003)'.
