What is the official language in Lebanon?
As an Arab country, Lebanon’s official language is Arabic; however, English and French are widely spoken. Tolerance and the encouragement of diversity, as well as its strong political culture have confirmed Lebanon’s world prominence.
The invention of the Phoenician Alphabet, the prototype for all alphabets in the world, is the most significant contribution that Lebanon has made to the whole of humanity.

With the emergence of Hizballah the country stopped being tolerant some 20 years ago.

Prior to 1943 the official languages were French and Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). Now it is just MSA. Though road signs are in both French and MSA.

no, Phoenician is not the "prototype" all the alphabets in the world, even in that part of the world (e.g. cuneiform). It certainly had its effect on those of Greek and Latin.
