Spherocyte - it is the only red blood cell ("RBC" or "erythrocyte") associated with hyperchromia. Morphologically sphere-shaped rather than bi-concave disc shaped (normal RBC shape), it has - by definition - a higher than normal concentration of hemoglobin for its cell volume. "Hyperchromia," an increase in RBC color, results from the increased hemoglobin concentration within a spherocyte.
