What U.S. President survived two assassination attempts in the same month?

President Gerald Ford survived two assassination attempts in the same month. It was the month of September 1975. On September 5, 1975, Lynette Fromme, a follower of Charles Manson, fired a pistol at the president in a crowd in Sacramento, but Ford was unharmed. Then, on September 22, 1975, Sara Jane Moore pulled a revolver on President Ford in San Francisco. She fired her gun at Ford from 40 feet away. A bystander, Oliver Sipple, grabbed Sara Moore's arm, and the shot missed President Ford.

Concerning Fromme, she was sentenced to life in prison, but was released from custody on August 14, 2009 (2 years and 8 months after Ford's death). In the case of Moore, she was tried and convicted in federal court, and sentenced to prison for life. She was paroled from federal prison on December 31, 2007 after serving more than 30 years. It was more than one year after Ford's natural death.
