Played by Sarah Jessica Parker (born 1965), Caroline "Carrie" Bradshaw is the main character of the long running television series 'Sex and the City' (1998-2004). The series is based on the autobiographical book of the same name by Candace Bushnell (born 1958). As well as acting, Parker, as Carrie, narrates each episode.

Carrie Bradshaw writes a weekly column for the 'New York Star' called 'Sex and the City'. It focuses on the sexual escapades of her close friends, as well as talking about the relationships between men and women in New York. Carrie gains recognition in the city and some people look up to her as their icon. Later on, Carrie starts working as a writer for the magazine 'Vogue'.

As well as playing Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker has starred in many movies, such as 'Footloose' (1984), 'L.A. Story' (1991), 'Hocus Pocus' (1993), and 'New Year's Eve' (2011). Since 2005, she has run her own production company called 'Pretty Matches'.

Sarah Jessica Parker worked as a producer on the two films based on the 'Sex and the City' franchise: 'Sex and the City' (2008) and 'Sex and the City 2' (2010). In 2013, a prequel television series was released with AnnaSophia Robb (born 1993) starring as a young Carrie Bradshaw.
