What was the name of the Oklahoma City bomber?

On April 19, 1995, a truck bomb explosion outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, left 168 people dead and hundreds more injured. The blast was set off by anti-government militant Timothy McVeigh, who in 2001 was executed for his crimes. McVeigh had been a U.S. militia movement sympathizer who was a Gulf War veteran. He detonated a Ryder rental truck full of explosives parked in front of the federal building. McVeigh's co-conspirator, Terry Nichols, had assisted in the bomb preparation. Motivated by his hatred of the federal government and angered by its handling of the 1993 Waco siege and the Ruby Ridge incident in 1992, McVeigh timed his attack to coincide with the second anniversary of the deadly fire that ended the siege at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas.

The victims of this bombing did not receive enough compensation. Although there where not as many as 9/11 I feel they were mostly ignored by the government and the people of the United States. Many lost children and nothing is harder for a family than losing a small child. Plus the government would not let Oklahoma have his trial in Oklahoma but sent him to Colorado. That was a slap in the face to the state of Oklahoma. We were plenty able to take care of him.

I totally agree. Filth should not be named or memorialized. The heroes that were at the building every day trying to find survivors and bodies, the support personnel that brought food and clean bedding, the businesses that served food for free, dogs that search day by day, the police and military that guarded the evidence gathering and workers and mainly the victims who died and survived should be remembered. We will not forget. 🇺🇸

2 years ago I stood where the bomb went off and the feeling of grief was overwhelming and only matched by the 9/11 memorial, Lorraine motel (and civil rights museum), Auschwitz, Hiroshima and other places where Man’s inhumanity to Man has been on such vulgar display.

We have visited that sight and seeing it close up and visiting the museum sure puts a different perspective on the whole thing . Very sad indeed that one person would do that to another human being 😪

I remember this tragedy so well....25 years ago....yet seems like yesterday. And here we are 25 years later and tragedy seems to be a "way of life" (9/11, riots, destruction, protests, murders). But, life is still good....somewhere over the rainbow....

I totally agree with you I try never to speak his name my son has visited the Memorial built on the site of the Alfred P Murrah building in OKC My prayers are always with all those people who survived this tragedy and especially to those who left us that day And for their families and friends left behind Rest In Peace !!!
