In 2015, Atlanta overtook 2014 leader, Chicago (O'Hare), with 882,497 total takeoffs and landings while Chicago had 875,136.

In 2014, Chicago was the leader with 881,933 flight operations and Atlanta with 868,359 according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) data.

In terms of most passenger traffic, Atlanta has remained at number 1 spot in the world for last 18 years.

When you die it doesn't matter if you go to heaven or hell , you still have to go through the Atlanta airport first. I heard this many years ago.

wordster, thanks for that reminder. I get tired of the repeated referral from members of countries like the US, Australia and New Zealand (my country) to being overrun by immigrants. Our ancestors 'overran' the original inhabitants of these countries which people seem to have forgotten. Even the Brits have forgotten that they invited the Jamaincans to Britain after WW2 because of labour shortages and now they want to send 3rd generation descendents back 'home'!!! If people have been born and lived in a country all their lives surely their home is in that country, not the one their ancestors came from. But it is an attitude found all around the world at the moment, that my country is for me and as all those like me, mainly meaning the now majority race or ethnicity.

Chicago's conventions although Arie Crown Theatre by Soldiers Field and Rosemont Horizon by ORD . Great restaurants it's to FN cold to be taking a stroll down Michigan avenue and or State St. I worked in the hotel industry as a Bellman/Doorman. In the 90s 2000s ..The electronics show used to be good but that hasn't been in Chicago in two decades plus. Las Vegas NV last time I remember.

At the international airport in Zimbabwe's second city, Bulawayo, the announcement would say, "Passengers, please make your way to Departure Gate No.4." There was only one departure gate, but it was called number 4, I suppose to make the airport seem a little less Mickey Mouse.
