Since this was not written by Lao-Tzu in English, the wording depends on the translation into English. Nuances of the original word must have made this a difficult phrase to translate.

In The Book of the Way, Lao Tzu also says, "He who knows, does not speak, and he who speaks does not know." Then he wrote a book with 9,510 words. I for one remain grateful that he did.
