Where are the highest tides in the world?
The world's highest tides occur in the Bay of Fundy's Minas Basin. The Minas Basin is in Nova Scotia, Canada.The water level at high tide can be as much as 16 metres (52 feet) higher than at low tide. High tides happen every 12 hours and 25 minutes (or nearly an hour later each day) because of the changing position of the Moon in its orbit around the Earth.

Massive tidal turbine in the Bay of Fundy begins generating electricity ... It was quickly connected to land via a subsea cable and started producing electricity almost right away. The turbine generates two megawatts of electricity...

It’s neat, you could actually play golf on the beach at low tide. Wharves need long ladders to be able to access boats at low tide. 52 feet is an amazing change. The river in Saint John NB actually changes from flowing out to sea to reversing and flowing inland at high tide.
