Located a few Kilometres South of Alice Springs in the centre of Australia, MacDonnell Ranges are a continuous Mountain Ranges that traverses some 400 miles across the southern Northern Territory.

It was named for a long forgotten Governor of South Australia, Sir Richard MacDonnell by John McDouall Stuart, who discovered the Ranges in April 1860, during an overland expedition.

There are many scenic spots and the chasms and gaps are frequented by thousands of visitors every year
