Red Beach, located in Liaoning, China, is famous for its landscape featuring the red plant of 'Suaeda salsa'. The 'Sueda' is one of the few species of plant that can live in highly alkaline soil. Its growth cycle starts in April when it is colored light red, while the color of the mature species is deep red.

Red Beach lies within an enormous wetland on the bank of the Liaohe River in Liaoning Province. This 132 square-kilometre (59 square miles) coastal nature reserve is home to over 260 species of birds, 399 other animal species and, of course, a landscape that is almost unreal. The startling crimson blanket resembles blood vessels and veins in the human body.

Panjin Shuangtaizi River mouth state-level nature protection area preserves a very large, ecologically intact wetland.
