Kingston is the capital of Jamaica. It is located in the southeast of the island and was founded in 1693. In 2010, it had a population of approximately 648,683. The Kingston Parish encompasses the city center, while the remaining districts belong to Saint Andrew Parish, which has been administratively merged with Kingston since 1923 to form the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation.

William Grant Park, the tranquil heart of downtown Kingston, features the Ward Theatre (built in 1911) and Kingston Parish Church, which was destroyed in an earthquake and rebuilt in 1910. Uptown Kingston is home to the Bob Marley Museum and Jamaica House, the official residence of the Prime Minister of Jamaica.
