Silvio Manfred Dante, played by Steven Van Zandt, was a fictional character in the 1999 HBO TV series "The Sopranos". He was the consigliere (adviser) and second-in-command to Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) in the DiMeo crime family.

Van Zandt was born in November 1950 in Winthrop, Massachusetts. His given name was Steven Lento. After spending a childhood in Middletown Township, New Jersey and obtaining an education Middletown High School (1968), he became a songwriter, musician, singer, and actor. He is best known as a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band; he plays guitar and mandolin. He is also known for acting roles in "The Sopranos", "Lilyhammer" (2012), and "Nine Months" (1995).

He has been married to Maureen Van Zandt, an actress and former ballet dancer, since December 1982. She portrays Silvio Dante's wife, Gabriella Dante, in the series "The Sopranos".
