Which astronaut said: "The Eagle has landed"?

“The Eagle has landed” is used colloquially to indicate any successful arrival or completion of a “mission” objective. Astronaut Neil Armstrong spoke the phrase to announce the successful landing of the Apollo 11 lunar module named “Eagle” in the Sea of Tranquility on the moon on July 20, 1969. When Armstrong later got out and stepped on the lunar surface, he spoke the more famous "One small step..."

Neil Alden Armstrong (August 1930 – August 2012) was an American test pilot and astronaut. He was the commander of the Apollo 11 moon landing mission which occurred on July 20, 1969. He and Buzz Aldrin were the first humans to land on the moon, and he was the first man to walk on the moon.

Commander of the spacecraft Eagle. Of course. He also said while in descent "The Eagle has wings" referring that the spacecraft was in functioning order.

I was 21 when this happened, but I didn't know about it until I read it in a Fantastic Four comic book. I told my dad and he was pretty disgusted. A few minutes later, I asked him if they came back. I've improved since then.

John W Shreve, not saying I was into news but my Uncle was watching it's the only reason I saw it too. At 16 and 21 our heads weren't rapped around space or news. That came later and now we have come a long way. Lol
